Where it all began...and why you shouldn't wait.

My first dog was named Samson, a husky cross and loyal to a fault. Samson was great, he ate pancakes and ice cream, followed us everywhere, sat on our coloring books and loved to swim in the creek (god did he smell after that!). He was our best friend and a member of the family.

Samson was let go at the ripe old age of 14 due to hip dysplasia. This is the only photograph we have of him and it was taken the same year he died. 14 years of memories, that are only in my head. It's almost like a dream that he ever existed at all.

As a professional pet and equine photographer I have this same scenario happen all the time. And I thought I would give my advice.

Don't wait.

Take the time to capture images of your furry family members whether you hire a pro or take thousands of images at home. They changed your life by just being in it and you should be able to share those memories and remember them even when they are gone.
